Pattern: Sew To Grow – Mini Bondi Top
Main – Liberty of London, Lily Pad
Yoke – Cotton + Steel, Stitch
The Sew to Grow Bondi Top for women was one of the first things I made when I was getting back into sewing. It’s a great easy top to make with versatility to boot so when I heard Lindsey was introducing mini version I was more than excited. Since making the Bondi Top for myself it has become a wardrobe staple and I literally wear it on a weekly basis so when I heard I could make one for my daughter as well I was jumping up and down on the inside! (If you know me I am not a jumping up and down on the outside kind of person)
This top is great for mini people too, my daughter loves hers but as it is coming into the cooler months here in Melbourne I have put it away for when the sun graces us again.
I made her a size four when she was about 3 so when summer is here it should fit her perfectly!
Choosing the fabric was a whole lot of fun. You can always be a little cheekier with your fabric choices when it comes to toddlers I think.
The pattern also comes with the option to extend the length and add a drawstring at the waist to make a dress which is very exciting too!
Making this top was so simple. I definitely recommend it for a sewing novice as it gives you a confidence boost at the end with its simplicity and perfect fit.
I’ve been playing around with fabrics for my next Bondi Top, my favourite combination is below but I just can’t decide whether to make it for my daughter or myself!
